About WRSI
Waste Recovery Seattle International, LLC., was founded in 1998. WRSI is an international high tech consulting company in the Waste Management Industry with a focus on Thermal Recycling®. WRSI’s primary focus is to build co-generation Thermal Recycling® Facilities as an environmentally friendlier alternative to landfills.
Unlike municipal solid waste (MSW)
incinerators of the past, WRSI is based on continuously
evolving technologies that meet and exceed environmental
standards. WRSI is based on German engineered technology that has been put into operation at the Thermal Recycling® Facility, Muellverwertung
Rugenberger Damm (in short MVR) in Hamburg, Germany. MVR has
been in operation since 1999. MVR is consistently setting new standards in the Thermal Recycling® field.
The traditional method for disposing
of MSW has been for municipalities to haul garbage to burial sites. These landfills have repeatedly proven themselves to be environmentally unfriendly. In fact, the EPA has identified landfills as the most significant source of methane gas, which is the worst contributor to global warming. In addition, landfills frequently evolve into Super Fund sites requiring millions of dollars of clean up years after they have been closed. Landfilling is not the final disposal of MSW but is storage for management by future generations. For more information read The History of Thermal Recycling paper.
WRSI offers the state of the art solution to the disposal of MSW. As opposed to landfills, dangerous substances are disposed of in controlled environments. WRSI facilities dispose of municipal solid waste while utilizing the fuel contained in the waste. At the same time the process creates by-products such as steam/electricity, bottom ash (for use in construction), ferrous and non-ferrous metals (for recycling), pharmaceutical grade hydrochloric acid (HCL), gypsum, and salts for industrial use. 99% of the waste input is transformed into marketable end products, ready for commercial applications.
WRSI builds new generation WTE/Thermal Recycling facilities that satisfy the growing demands for environmental regulations and alternative energy resources.
This has been accomplished while also meeting today’s stringent environmental standards.
